Some of us always felt that barcamps tend to become a little superficial at times, scratching the abstract layer above the first layer. Nothing wrong about it whatsoever as it helps in doing away with unnecessary details, but you just cant feed philosophies to hackers. Like that little kid said in the film core (extremely stupid film, watch it if you have nothing, extremely nothing, not even breathing to do), "I speak only one language 0-1-0-1-0-1-0".



Devcamp to be held on 9th Feb at thoughtworks is supposed to be exactly that. A good deal of discussions took place, on the barcamp mailing list, about the relevance of one more camp, suffices to say that we'll all be coders and hackers in this unconference, talking about coding and hacking. Every argument justified with a code snippet. At least thats what I expect it to be like. Mighty boring you say ? I say it will be most exciting for a developer. Not many sessions registered as of now but the attendees list is already over 200. Expecting someone more interesting talks and looking forward to that talk by Martin Fowler. Also interested in knowing more about Semantic Web.

I am planning on taking a session on wordpress hacking, plugins development, theme development etc, if I get some time to prepare. No point in wasting other people's time in telling things they already know. Since this is just a one day event, hoping everyone respects this fact.
